Indigenous Plants and Native Uses in the Northeast

Look at the plants growing around you:

If you cut through the opening in the stone wall to the left of Heritage Trail, the hillside woods open up to a meadow filled with wild strawberry (Fragaria vesca). Nearby on the rocky well-drained slope are blueberry (Vaccinium species) and JUNIPER (Juniperus communis) bushes.

Note: the Parks & Recreation Dept. insists that no plants are disturbed at the Park.
