Pemmican and Prairie Turnips

Ingredients

  • 1-2lbs pemmican
  • 2 quarts cleaned and chunked turnips
  • 2-3 tsp salt
  • crushed red pepper seeds-optional

Directions


Cut pemmican into half inch chunks, put in kettle with salt, peppers, and water to cover, bring to a simmer, when bubbling add turnips cook until softened, 15 mins or so,

eat with fry bread,

can vary by adding beans for a couple hours before adding turnips,
